Job Description:

The Carrier Sales Manager must provide carrier procurement and transportation solutions across multiple modes, improve profitability and provide a high level of customer service. This individual will also develop and foster strategic relationships with an extensive carrier base, as well as coach and provide direction for the Capacity Management Team.
 
Compensation:

Base Salary: 60-80K base with 100-120 on target earnings

Day-to-day:
  • Oversee Capacity Managers
  • Actively learn and understand market trends and changes to adapt strategy and achieve competitive advantage
  • Develop core carriers around particular lanes through properly sourcing and vetting suppliers
  • Create and develop Carrier Onboarding SOPs
  • Ensuring Capacity Mangers are building strong relationships with carriers that will foster long-term partnerships
  • Assist with carrier contracts, including rates, level or service and liability
  • Drive profitability through transportation purchasing improvements and carrier development
  • Proactively conduct regular carrier and process reviews, identify areas of improvement, present findings and recommendation to senior management team
  • Proactively review and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs
  • Conduct pipeline reviews
 
Who you are:
  • 5+ years Industry Experience
  • Currently managing a group of 5+ agents
  • Team Management and Development Experience
  • Comprehensive knowledgeable of the industry, current trends, risks, opportunities and carrier development
  • Working knowledge of industry related business platforms (e.g., TMS, CRM, HRP)
  • Ability to execute actionable items and show ROI
